Slow Creative Workshop: Basketry Workshop & Ode to 'Pa amb Tomàquet'

A day to create, share and be outdoors

In the Mediterranean, days are meant to be enjoyed slowly and always end up around a table (la sobretaula). On April 19th, we’d love to share one of those days with you in l’Empordà.

We’ve designed this experience just like we love to spend our time here: no rush, creating with our hands, eating well, being outside, and letting everything flow naturally

Weaving workshop: learning through the hands

We’ll start the day with a basketry workshop using natural materials, imparted by Tramats, a small artisan studio dedicated to traditional basketry with plant fibers.

You’ll learn a traditional technique step by step, a craft that’s slowly disappearing, in a calm, almost meditative atmosphere.

It’s not about perfection, but about the process: being present, creating something with your hands, and sharing it with others.

By the end, you’ll have your own handmade basket to take home, perfect for bread, tomatoes, or simply as a beautiful piece.

It’s aperitivo time: the art of "pa amb tomàquet"

We all know food tends to become the highlight of any gathering — and this one is no exception. We’ll gather around the table for what we do best: a long, relaxed tapas lunch in the sun. 

This time, it’s also about learning. Because pa amb tomàquet is simple, but there’s an art to it. We’ll show you how we do it, from choosing the right tomato (el clàssic tomàquet de penjar) to making it step by step. And of course, we’ll enjoy it properly!

The setting

We’ll meet in a beautiful space in the heart of l’Empordà, surrounded by nature and open views, hosted by LoHodiHomes. A place to slow down and feel fully in the Mediterranean.
